The true meaning of friendship

Sometimes we hurt the ones we care for most because we know they shall forgive and forget. But friendship is like a flower, cut it and you will reap the rewards for a few days. The colours will be vivid, the smell intense, but they shall fade away. Nurture the flower and it shall cause you a lifetime of happiness, it shall be your companion through all weathers. Even when there is dark and stormy weather ahead, laying on the horizon, rest assured it shall stay with you and that when the storm passes, the flower shall bloom again for you in spring.

It is like finding a bird that is willing to fly with you, it might not fly as high or as fast, but it shall fly with all its heart. Don’t weigh it down because it sometimes chooses to take a different path, a path you don’t know or don’t like. Let the bird soar the skies and let the wind brush its feathers. Give it freedom and it shall give you the gift of company, of sharing the rain when it falls on your wings, of finding shelter when you are soaked and fly right back with you when the sun illuminates the sky. When you have a friendship that is so pure, there is no need to be afraid of the unknown for they are by your side, willing to let you fly in their wind draft to ease the load when needed and let you fly ahead and watch your back, they ll hunt with you and warn you of dangers ahead, they shall share their food once caught.

Many will never learn to understand the purity of such a friendship because it is selfless, it demands nothing but gives everything, even its vulnerability, laying bare before one. Treasure it, it is the hardest thing to find and irreplaceable, like the love of a mother for her child.
